So ..what your saying is that I need to have the car Dynoed ...take my scan tool and give Ed the values so HE can tweak the programming? This starting to sound a little like the SC technique... :rolleyes:

#1 hey it's great to have a programming section!!!
#2 I'm in the middle of a h/c project...got all the stuff, just waiting on my port&polisher dude to give me his attention.
#3 after evaluating, and hearing nothing but great stuff about EW decided to not get LS1 edit and just "do it right the 1st time" with EW.
#4 I've seen tons of post's by Buckmaster and never seen him pissed.
#5 I'm now evaluating EW programming and getting LS1 edit.

EW could not get my car done after 3 sessions of shipping back and forth. Royal PITA. I went and had the car dyno tuned............... done the first time.

I always call long distance tuning ping pong.What I suggest to all with locked down programs and I would tell why there locked but your all smart enough.If you have the LS-! Edit and the confidence and knowledge for 60.00 avge. your local GM dealer can reflash your PCM and then you must do it all your self.I cant program a VCR but I can Dyno Tune a C-5,you you need to rent some dyno time typically 75.00 pr hr. and make SURE its equiped with wide band o2.
This will cost YA but if you pamper that program you will have a long lasting fire breathing animal.Any one near AZ. we will Dyno Tune a Vette to your 100% satisfaction for only 500!!! and you wont be seeing my funny face again at least with tunning problems.NOTE this is for NA motors only blown motors are 75.00 per HR. and we edevor to keep it at 650.00 or below.

It is a PIA, but at least it doesn't take 7 months to get the PCM back... And I agree it would be much easier if he didn't lock it. I've sent mine back to him to tweak mine as well.

Yep :( ARE put my car on the dyno, sent the PCM and info back to Ed, Ed sent it back, car was still not right, sent back to Ed, car still not right, back to Ed, and here I am now with some minor issues that could be fixed easily by LS1Edit and Ed won't allow it :( :mad BIG PIA IN THE F'IN AZZ!

ARE should be able to tune a 2001 by now.... I would just buy a new PCM for 150.00 from valvegod and let ARE rip. It sucks we have so much money invested in programming, but what can you do???

Really its a good thing,except for your intake its going to be the cheapest power you can buy and will increase mpg as well as POWER and because your fuel trims will be a bit rich your moto will last quite a bit longer.Cheer Up Dave S.

I went thru this the hardway as i had ed wright program and them tried to flash over a new ls1 edit program for my car. This is a big mistake and don't even try it unless you want as many headaches as i have had! :nono:
NOt only does ed Wright lock his program so you can't change anything he also blocks it out so you can't read it either. If you want to do fresh program over his you will have to flash at dealer back to stock and start fresh. Otherwise, he mixes up tables and changes things around and you will have major headaches! Don't do it, your making great power for what you have and be satisfied and learn from my mistakes.

I thought you were extremely pleased with your Ed Wright set up? :confused: I can't answer your question about Steve Cole's Program as i just don't know but can tell you that i could not use LS1 edit over his program as this really caused me and my LS1 tuner major headaches as i had problems regarding car not shifting under low speeds and WOT shift points and had to reflash back to stock and get rid of Wright entirely in order to fix these problems. I would assume but may be wrong that you will have headaches if you use the powerloader over ed wrights flash as ed locks the pcm from viewing, altering and apparently changes around and mixes up tables to really complicate things for those who try to change his program flash. As Ed has great turnaround as you know i would just send him your autotap files and tell him what mods have changed, or what parameters you want changed and then he will make changes and send back to you asap. I must admit, my car put its best dyno numbers done regarding horsepower but not torque, when i had my old ed wright programming.

I was running a bit rich with Ed's program at WOT to and with the use of a MAF Translator which diale me in on a dyno with an 02 sensor i picked up 25rwhp and 45rwtq by leaning out with MAF T. If you don't have a MAF T get one as i have had nothing but huge success using one and this will solve all your problems as the MAF T has been the only device that has allowed me to perfect WOT air fuel ratios when neither ed wrights program nor ls1 edit tuning could do the job. If you have one set it a 0 setting at WOT get to a dyno and this baby will leaning you out anywhere from 2% TO 12% by simply turning a simple screw:D! WIth ls1 edit i couldn't get my car to lean out a rich WOT condition and the MAF T gave me the ruler straight air fuel ratios of 13.4 to 13.5 that i was looking for across the whole rpm band.
