Default "Abuse Mode" Question

Does anyone know exactly what the abuse mode is and, more importantly, what management areas are affected when in this mode as opposed to when not in this mode?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. The LS1-Edit has a table for setting parameters for use of the "Abuse Mode". I was wondering exactly what is affected when you enter this mode.

Well, first of all, lets not confuse "Competition Mode" with "Abuse Mode"

"Competition Mode" is entered via the console AH/TC switch and simply disables the TC functions but leaves the AH functions active.

"Abuse Mode" is a function of the PCM and is present as a mechanism to determine when the car is being particularly harshly treated, and is intended to protect mechanical components by limiting delivered torque ,etc. via reduction of available engine power through reductions in timing...

The primary measures are vehicle speed and engine rpm's.. If the car is under a certain speed (typically zero on a stock car) and the rpm's are high (typically over 6000 rpms, this is considered a potentially abusive condition and the PCM will attempt to limit torque so that a clutch dump, or neutral drop, will not damage components...

The Max Torque PCM setting is also critical to the application of this control measure...

Hi Guys! OK. Neverenuf, here's a question for you. I have an 01 Automatic with H/C, 3200 TC, shift kit, etc. (see sig.) My TPI will not show 100% throttle until about 5200 rpm's. I see you say that the abuse mode will limit try and limit torque. Is this "Abuse Mode" also limiting my throttle?, and is there a way to get around it? Thanks, Eric
