Getting FLP headers and cats installed today. Will then be tuned with LS1 edit. Right now, I only run the Z06 style airbox with a K&N filter. (Have been waiting for right results on Varam vs. Blackwing to see if increased cost is worth it.)
Question: When I do get the Varam or Blackwing, will my tuning with LS1 Edit be a waste and will it be necessary to re-tune, or will the idle re-learn process do a sufficient job?
Right now, only mods are Borla Catback, the headers, Z06 air box, a 178 Tstat and I will be replacing intake in the next several months.
I now have a few weeks to make a decision. I didn't have them do LS1 edit yet. With 100% humidity, it would have been a poor showing on the dyno so we opted to wait for the end of the month.
In the mean time, is it worth my while to have LS1 Edit done prior to changing intakes or can I have the tuning done and change the intakes at a later date without screwing things up?
Yep, I concur - the lid/intake/etc. can have a profound impact on MAF sensor reading - and to make the most of your tuning I would have the intake path squared away beforehand.
