cleaned the grounds , ignition switch , disconnected battery , used to be able to reset and start by disconnecting battery , would start , thought every thing was 50/50 had a traction control display message but was still able to drive , even drove it to emissions testing and it passed, I heard about recalls , called dealer and found out mine had them done ,the ones prior to 2003 when I bought , computer rewrite mn6 , have a key code not in range code , tried to measure chip resistance and bought a resistor and wired in , didn't make a difference, now I m thinking of getting a CAN BUS tool to see if I'm able to control modules , get readings from etc . Where I'm at , I know about pullin codes using the options fuel buttons etc , any ideas about Can Bus Approach to the Corvette c5 dream car paper weight full of phantom electrical problems . At ends
I'm not exactly sure what your question is, but its pretty common for people to install a LMC5 to disable the column lock permanently since it has been problematic, even with recall work performed.
What codes is it throwing? (I'm not promising any direct help, but that's the first thing that someone who knows what they're doing is going to ask).

well , I have a column lock issue , but I don't believe it to be the cause of the problem , my mn6 has been recalled, ecm has been rewrote , I hear it un lock and lock shouldn't after recall ,but does . what I want is a CAN BUS diagnostics tool , to control modules ie check em , seat ,door etc, ones I have herd can cause Vat problems . Can bus tool Options , my vette is 15 years old now , I hope that type of equipment is available at a reasonable price .

Had the typical problems , display say service column lock
I've read the forums , tried most fixes , last repair I attempted was cleanin the grounds in engine compartment , thought that solved it ,was going to test it with a water hose , I thought my problems where cause by moisture , hot humid day , all my gauges went hey wire , reduced power etc , pulled codes and went thru them . had a power drop ,low battery ,caused my vats column lock to act up , disconnected and charged battery , reconnected that used to start car ,but didnt this time . Now I Want A CAN BUS Tool To see data from The modules , to see which ones are transmitting or not transmitting

Tried most fixes for what? what is going on specifically with the car? Is the column locked and stuck? Does it lock and unlock randomly? What's happening?
