02 sensor replace maintenance
I found an old episode of Two Guys Garage on YouTube where they fixed up a C5 Convertible with 50,000 miles.
The episode was great with good tips, but they looked like they wanted to sell parts as their show seems like it was set up to do.
After a plug and wire change, makes sense to me at that mileage, they showed on a scan tool that the 02 sensors were slow to respond because of the 50K miles. They changed the 02 sensors to "wake up the engine". They showed the new 02 sensors had a much faster response rate on the scan tools graph when they were done. They explained that most 02 sensors do this with age and mileage.
Is there any truth to this or were they just trying to sell 02 sensors?
