LS1Edit cable dies...
I plugged my 2 month old LS1Edit cable assembly into my Z06 last night and the cable seems to be dead. The LED lights inside the cable converter do not come on anymore. The software does not connect to the car anymore.
I checked all of the connections that make up the cable and everything looks perfect. No damaged pins anywhere. The cable has never been dropped or damaged and it looks flawless & scratch free. My autotap cable & software still work perfectly.
Anyone else ever have this problem? I hope Carputing fixes this thing quickly without charging me.
I had the opposite! My Autotap died.. It turns Out it is the black cable that goes under the dash..
Try using that cable from your Autotap and put on the LS1-Edit...If you can see the leds come on then it is getting power. If not then the LS1-Edit using is most likely dead...

I did not try the Autotap DB-9 to OBDII connector on the LS1Edit cable converter because the Pin setup on the Autotap supplied OBDII connector is different than the Pin setup on the Carputing OBDII connector.
I figured that the entire Carputing cable setup needs to be sent back anyway and I did not want to risk causing more damage.
I use the cables from my autotap on LS1 edit, I just swap out the little box and dont feel like taking 4 cables with me everywhere. They are the same here..

I am going to send Carputing an email asking them if they approve of this. The pins on my Autotap OBDII connector are different than the pins on my Carputing OBDII connector.
The Carputing connector has all of the pins in the connector. The Autotap connector only has about half of the pins.

Couldnt tell you, I mixed up the two OBDII cables long ago. I didnt count the pins on either but the two cables look like they were made by the same company. I'm sure Ken will say not to use any other cable, I sure wouldnt take a chance telling a customer to use a different then supplied cable on a product that could make your car unusable :)
