Default Urgent-can VATS anti theft deterent be 100% deactivated via LS1 edit?

Ever since upgrading to my radical 4000 drag converter and 3.73s i have had a very frustrating interrmittent problem during WOT launches from a stop or very low speeds in which my fuel gets temporarily cut on and off for a second or two and i have discovered the code that is thrown when this happens is 1626 H which is the VATS system.

My local GM mechanic in an attempt to fix this problem was kind enough to replace under warranty my ignition lock cylinder which he believed was causing my problem. At first, it looked like i might be good to go but lately it has reared its ugly head again and once again through the code today after fuel was cutting out during test and tune WOT launches at my local industrial strip.

Question, if need be in order to fix this problem i don't mind 100% completely deactiving my VATS system as the car never leaves my sight anyways and i need to fix this problem once and for all! Can the vehicle anti theft detterent system be completely deacitvated by LS1 edit or even better yet, can it be disable by physically disconnecting it or the eletronics that control it. I will trade getting rid of my VATS system in exchange at going down the 1/4 mile without my fuel being cut off and KILLING my performance! :mad If yes, how difficult is it to deactivate the VATS?

Thanks much for your advice.

I copied this from the ls1 edit site.
I used the VATS disable on an engine swap project and it worked great. Mine
was on a 2000 5.3L truck engine/PCM. My theory on your problem is that VATS
is disabled in the PCM and not in the BCM. The BCM would be the computer
that flashes the lights and opens hatches. I don't know about cars but in
trucks the BCM monitors a couple sensors on the ignition cylinder. When it
detects key rotation it sends a message to the PCM telling it to turn on the
fuel pump and ignition coils.
See if this site helps. http://www.ls1edit.com/pipermail/ls1...28/thread.html

Joe,

Thanks for the input and info. The code i throw is PCM-1626 which is VATS. Do you think eliminating the VATS with ls1 edit will fix this headache?
