If I need a new PCM how do I go about doing that? Should I consider standalone?
Looking to do a SD tune on a DPE 2.5 bar MAP sensor.
Sorry for the vague questions. I went to get tuned on my new 5.3 turbo setup and stated running into electrical issues. My OBD port lost power mid-flash so it probably killed my PCM. I’m not with the car to check it but I’m trying to prepare myself for my next step.
Even if I don’t end up needing a new one I’d still like as much input as possible!
I try to educate myself as much as possible with my car especially since I’m not around it as much as I’d like to be!
Thanks for your time!!

A stock PCMs for my 2002 was only about a hundred bucks on ebay, and I'm told they're half that if you pull it yourself.
For aftermarket, you can spend as much as you want but figure around $1000 at least. And might need a factory PCM to keep the instrument cluster happy anyhow.

It’s a 2002 z06
Would I need a stock PCM programmed at a dealership? And can it hold a custom OS for a 2.5 bar sensor? I don’t even know if that sensor is compatible idk how all the electronics work lol

Let's figure out what's going on, and then we can help.
Start at the beginning. Is your car at a tuning shop getting a tune when the battery died? At your house? Are you trying to tune it, or someone else? Are you using HP Tuners or EFI live?
You can buy PCM's on this forum, on ebay, craigslist, etc.
Yes, you can do a SD tune with a 2.5 bar sensor.
Yeah I brought my car to a shop to have it tuned. Instantly started having electrical/no start issues. I’m 99% sure I forgot to plug in the crank position sensor so there’s that.
But at one point when the tuner was mid-flash, the laptop lost signal to the PCM. From what I’ve read that’s a guarantee it’s bricked. Now what?
Mine is on 02 Z as well. I got my PCM from an ebay seller, SpareEcm, but I'd wager that both sellers are just pulling them from scrapped cars, cleaning them up (mine looked almost new), and reflashing them with GM's dealership tools.
It's pretty straightforward to replace, other than one or two of the screws for the mounting bracket being in an awkward spot.
I did order one from that link I posted. We’re going to bench flash it and put the new PCM in. Then I’ll get back to troubleshooting the no-start issue after that since I’ll know the PCM is good.
