Hi everyone I'm thinking about purchasing the HP tuners, I read a bunch of the forms on here and watched a bunch of YouTube videos, but I still think I'm going to be way above my head with any kind of tuning, I wanted to know if there are any people out there or companies that can connect to my computer and car through the internet, and tune the car? If that's possible what special stuff do I need, and any recommendations of shops or people? Thanks. Semper fi
You can load a FREE demo program of HP online and it will allow you to open up some included tune files that are in the Demo Then you can walk around the tune and try to learn all the different tuning tables
PS ALSO you can download a FREE demo program of EFILIVE as well and open up some included tune files and try to walk around and learn it
I did the same thing 15 years ago when I became a Pro Tuner I studied both and chose EFILIVE because of it's simplicity --It will be easy to see which software is the easiest to use
HP offers no descriptions of what each table does and they often use the < or > symbols which are confusing--EFILIVE uses MIN or MAX and tells you what those changes represent
Most people choose HP because it is cheaper and allows you tuning of Ford and Dodge But if you only want to tune GM stuff EFILIVE is far superior Just my opinion
ALSO as a beginner you will often get STUCK and lost--EFILIVE offers excellent support of a Live person--HP makes you email them and they often don't reply
I purchased EFILIVE from WAIT4ME PERFORMANCE And when I was a beginner He was patient with my learning curve ans always helped me thru an issue
I'm sure more and more guys do remote tuning nowadays, but I know that PatG and Vengeance racing both do. You could get the full up flashscan tool or the cheaper Autocal device which is specifically made for such remote tuning application.
edit: looks like theres a recent thread in C6 section where some guy wasn't super happy with his PatG experience. Spotty comms and slow response.
