2003 C5 Z06: Longtube headers, High flow cats, Blackwing intake.
My corvette has an ECS Mail Order Tune. I keep getting the P0153 O2 sensor code. I was told that I can tune out this code and my car will go back to closed loop. I'm using TunerPro with PCM hammer. Could I just change the flag on the P0153 to a 3, then reflash my ECU or should I try and use a stock OS version?
You are on a stock OS version. No reason for a basic ECS flash to change the OS. Yes you would just change the value to 3 and write calibration only. But like I said in your other thread, it's likely there's something going on with the sensor. I would look into vs just disabling a code and hoping for the best. Or it may go into closed loop with it disabled....but may not function correctly if the sensor is switching very slowly, etc. Best to diagnose the issue first, before just disabling the code.

First on troubleshooting the sensor, on Torque it appears to act like the other side. They don't read exactly the same all the time, but they are changing while driving and under different loads. The only thing I could do is swap out the sensor for another new one. I assume that would be one way to handle it. Is there something else I can do to troubleshoot?
Next, the car already has an ECS tune. I did the mail order tune for $150 a while back. I shipped them my ECU out of this car and then they made some changes to the tuning.
Which headers are they? Do they really move the O2 sensors far downstream or something perhaps? I suppose they may just be outside of whatever thresholds are required. I guess if you have verified they are working "normal" then you might just have to disable and proceed.

XS Speed version 3 headers. They are ceramic coated and even have some areas with additional header wrap. They do move the sensors positions overall. I am going to buy another O2 sensor just to be 100% that is not the issue. I only have this code on the one side, but it is worth the $52 to replace and know it is fresh.
