Trying to use this Pcm hammer on my 04 vette and i cant get it to read the PCM. Is there any way aro
und this? Something about a seed / key and its asks for a operating system ID
I only see it asking for the OS. That said, the only way I've ever known which OS was on a PCM was by reading the PCM and letting it tell me.
Thanks I tried it again yesterday and it got much further during the read but the DIC started saying Reduced engine power and service active handling and it didn't complete the read. This is we're it got stuck. I canceled after 1.5 hrs and then the car wouldn't start. I disconnected the battery and reconnected it and everything went back to normal.. panicked a little bit thinking it damaged something during the read. Is PCM hammer problematic with the C5 computer?
I speak only as someone who has used EFILive, but you're not going to hurt the PCM doing a read. My Z is finicky about flashing sometimes and it's done some weird stuff after a flash. Make sure everything is off, doors are closed, etc when reading/writing to minimize data flowing over the bus.

So I followed your advice and I got a full read with PCM hammer in about 30 minutes. However once it was done there were weird things happening. The cluster said the voltage was .7 v on startup it would say charge system failure but it was charging fine. When I shut it off it would say reduced engine power and the temp needle would max out. The car also lost communication with all the tpms sensors. Weird stuff. I pulled the battery negative off reconnected and everything went back to normal. Just have to relearn the tpms again. Here are some pics
I know NSFW was having some struggles with reading off the P59 at one point, not sure if this is related, but this is the sort of weird stuff mine does after a flash that doesn't go so hot. The fix for me is to just reflash the same thing, that usually does the trick. Since you haven't flashed, I guess just unplugging the battery again might do?

Yes thanks for the input!! Well the only thing that remained not normal was the tpms but as soon as i drove a little everything went back to normal. I will update after the flash,
