overwrite a powerloader question
I have a 99 A4 loaded with a PPLII and would like to know if you can change just the fan temp. setting without sending the loader back to Steve Cole ?
I loaded the program in summer of 2001.

My car had the PLII when it went to JP @ 21st Century for the blower install. Even though the PCM was reflashed with the Magnuson program, the programming gave me problems. Weird problems.
I am not saying it was the PL, I'm not saying the PCM was locked, and I'm not saying the because of the PL I needed to install a new PCM. BUT, I have a new PCM with the same programming that is working a WHOLE LOT better now.
About the only benefit I got out of the PL is a really fancy OBDII cable I can use to fill my parts drawer.
Oh, in regards to your question... If the PCM is locked you won't be able to download the baseline program into LS1 Edit, so when you write the changes to the PCM you run the risk of losing everything, as well as modifying a table that you didn't intend to modify. Beware.
