On my C5 2003 (european version) 5 months ago i have changed break pades and break disks ( with a new break liquid).
Is about 2 weeks that random appears the Error C1296 and message Active Handling. But the car goes normally. When i turn off the key and turn on it, the error is disappeared. Entering in the diagnostic manual mode i can see that the error is present ( history)
Someone can help me on how to check?
Sorry, but i live in Italy and is very difficult to find someone that is very skilled on this fantastic car.
It seems like your brake pressure sensor signal is to high or to low .
If you have a scantool you can check signal value on the scanner .
If not you can use a multimeter and measure the voltage between terminal 13 and 17 on the EBCTM like the schematic shows
Sounds to me when you repaired your brakes you may have left one of the "Wheel Speed Senors " unplugged or frayed the wires or bent the pins
Active Handling and Traction Control messages or codes are usually caused by a wheel speed sensor fault
