Hi guys,
Could you please recommend me a good tuner? I’m going to swap the camshaft on my Corvette C5, and the ECU will need to be tuned afterwards. I’d also like to have the transmission adjusted, and basically get the whole engine properly tuned.
The problem is that I’m from the EU, and nobody does this kind of work here or in the neighboring countries. So I need someone who can do a remote tune for me.
Michigan Motorsports is pretty solid. They just take a while to get back to you.
Update, I got my tune verified with a wideband and new tuner. These guys were so far off i cant recommend them anymore. The engine was running absurdly lean throughout the entire range. No surprise I havent heard from them in months. I would avoid their tuning.
Normally I would never lean in and suggest a location to do your remote tuning but, I will warn you that there are an incredible range of tuners out there and all of them claim to be the best or will dismissively say that it's just an LS, therefore it's not that complicated, don't be too picky, etc., etc.
But in this instance, I would suggest that you open a line of communication with Gwatney Performance Innovation (GPI) and go through the motions with them. They can assist you with getting HP Tuners, the credits and the tuning you are looking for. I'll tell you, however, don't expect there to be a massive difference between the stock and tuned vehicle. They can clean up whatever behavior you need them to provided that there isn't an underlying issue, and you should get a fair amount of support. To that end, they will likely suggest a part or two to make the tuning "worth it" over just tuning the stock vehicle.
