Default Powerloader Users Please Read....

Has anyone with a Powerloader installed, try to tune your car with LS1 Edit?

Any issues? I thought I heard that Steve Cole started to lock a certain area on the PCM!

I'm looking to get some dyno tuning with LS1 Edit, but concerned that I may be S.O.L. if they can't edit the powerloader info!

THanks

My '02 is loaded. I heard the same thing. I am having the dealer reflash and then I will tune. UPDATE: Dealer just reflashed back to stock. Drives different. You need much more petal to get it to downshift and the temps really go up without the fans coming on early.

Did you already talk to your dealer? How did you approach them about it? If I have to end up doing that, I don't want them to get suspicious and ask why i'm wanting to reflash my PCM.

My dealer has been pretty cool so far. They know I have headers, vortex, x pipe, etc. And have been cool about a warranty issue I had last year. But they dont know i had the PL loaded!

Thanks for any tips!

I had an A4 coupe 2001 with powerloader, I waited 6 months for steve cole to reprogram powerloader for 3:42 gears...gave-up and went to SpeedWorks for LS1-edit. Powerloader had an override that would not allow edit...SpeedWorks took car to "friendly" GM-dealer for re-flash and then did LS1-edit. Dealer only charged $40...common practice.

I have KR at about 5200. The dealer is going to reflash for that. In Ca they want $70 to reflash. Isn't Ca wonderful?

:iagree: I also did not have a good experience with trying to get my Powerloader programing modified. I gave up & bought the Predator.

Had Yank 3000 Torque Converter installed. Shifting was off, dealer reflashed the computer to back to stock... Charged $35. I probally didn't need to have it reflashed. When the Tech that installed the Yank 3000 rechecked the transmission fluid level, it was about a quart low. That was what was causing my shift problems... I wonder if I can just reload the Powerloader???

You shouldn't have any problems using the powerloader to reflash it again IMO. :)

MikeV - I've also been fighting KR with my PL. I tried stock programming and it did help some but KR is still there (less than before)... SO, I went back to PL...

Good luck
