Predator is LOCKED!!!
Ok I bought a Predator scan tool from a fellow member. He doesn't know how to restore the factory settings in his car unlocking the Predator for me. Does anyone know how to do this so I can use the damn thing??? I would really appreciate it.

You can't! The Predator is VIN locked to the first vehicle it is used on. This was one of the complaints about it for the pre-buy last year. Diablo decided there would be no resale! Sorry

My memory isn't as good as it use....so sombody help me out here. Wasn't there something that the unit could be returned to Diablo for a fee to be unlocked? If so, does anybody know how much they were talking about charging.

The units will VIN lock to the first vehicle they are installed on. It specifically states this in the user manual that comes with the unit.

I just sold mine.
Had to have PDQ reset it..no problems.
RTFM guys..theres nothing to see here you cant solve with a single phone call or reading the manual.
Back in the days before the http://WWW..we actually had to call people that had the answers before we got all knotted up about things. It was a happier age back then...

FWIW, they can not "reset it", as they do not have that ability at all. All they did was swap it out with another unit.
#1, this is grounds for being hit with sanctions by DiabloSport, up to being denied the ability to even sell the product, and that is why you will not see me doing this.
#2, it's especially bad for anyone to be doing this, especially whoever may do this knows better, and realize what a ruckus it will cause; this is not good!

The tune part is locked in, but the real time data & code clearing option is not!
I tuned my 99' GMC...........yesterday did a little real time data watching on it and our 00' C5!
Pretty cool, will be looking for some KR figures on the vette tomorrow.
The GMC has only had a max KR of 2.2 deg. with good 89 octane gas........
