CarChip?
What do you guys think? 5sec intervals seems a little bit slow to do any real tweaking to me. It's obvious it's not a real-time scanning tool, but what could it be used for other than novelty? I'm basically a newbie when it comes to scanning tools and if what type/frequency of data they collect can be useful.
The predator can display 4 parameters at a time on-screen and refreshes "very fast"? That's all I could find in the archives. I also found that the Predator doesn't data log.
So is CarChip just novelty or can some tuning be done off of it? Basically I'm confused of what makes a good scan tool. Real-time seems to be the way to go since it can be used on a dyno for performance, but why couldn't something like the CarChip be used effectively even if the scan rate is extremely slow? CarChip isn't a dyno-day scan tool, but with it's data logging and software capabilities; what CAN be done with this data (cutting the martketing crap that's found on their website)?
