I have a little problem since my Incurance company wants me to re-program the keys, because I bought the car from germany (Cause they are cheaper than sweden). I called my GM service guy and he told me that I need to change the hole BCM or PCM (I don`t remeber wich one) and need 2 new key for the price of 1200$? Do I really need to do this. I thought the only thing you needed to do was re flash the computer and not to change the hole thing.
Is that correct or Is it the service guy that doesn´t know.
You should only have to get new cylinders for your ignition and doors, just have new keys made with the same resistance pellet as your present keys.
The bcm reads the resistance in the pellet and if it matches it (BCM) allows car to start.........No need for a PCM/BCM replacement. ( at least in US models, can't
believe exports would be different)
