I finally got my car tuned w/ LS1 edit. My baseline (mustang dyno) was 349.1 rwhp and 325.2 rwt. After the tune I ended w/ 373.8 rwhp and 356.9 rwt. I am guessing that I am around 420-430 rwhp and 400-410 rwt on a dyno jet. the tune was done by Peter and the guys at Dragon race Engineering. Great guys. I had a good time down there while it was getting done and i am happy w/ the results. kaley
Keith, Did you run the 12.4 NA? It looks like we are right about the same HP numbers. Just trying to get an idea on what i will run at bandimere at the end of the month. Thanks, kaley
I too got tuned this weekend. We installed SVO #30 injectors and then recorded on Ease and tuned over a 3 day period. IMO, much better to tune on the track or road with real data than a dyno. The car is perfectly dialed in and I now have a summer and winter tune; summer tune 3% richer. I went from 346 RWHP to 368RWHP. Not only is the car making more horses but my tuner played with the torque management curves. At a light with a not so aggressive launch I do 0-60 in 4.3 secs and '60 at 1.94!! Can't wait to take her to the track and go for some better numbers.
The LS1Edit when done by proffesionals is absolutly awesome. I kept on hearing that I didn't need it with bolt-ons - :bs - one would be surprised at how out of tune most of our cars are. I paid $400 for my tune and will probably pay for itself in better mileage.
I agree with track tuning vs. dyno tuning. We actually do both. We dyno tuned my car, and pulled it from 648.7 RWHP to 701.8 rwhp buy dialing in fuel, spark, etc. But when I took the car to the track, it actually ran slower, and felt sluggish. We did have our computer hooked up, and did get a "snapshot" of the run. What we found was the launch was more voilent than before and was throwing errient knock signals, and the computer was sucking 15+ degrees timing from the motor!!! We were able to adjust knock sensivity, signal, and de-generation. The next run the car went from a 12.2 run, to a 10.7 run. Dyno's are great, don't get me wrong, but real world is real world!!!!!
