I recently got out of drag racing after the better part of 20 years. I also just bought my first Vette. It's a 2001 Pewter Coupe with the A4 trans. It is completely stock. I'm not looking to get back into drag racing, but would like to spiff up the performance a little without getting back into a great deal of time and money. My questions are these: What does a typical stock coupe run in the quarter mile and how much performance improvement (as in E.T./MPH) can be expected out of tweaking timing and shift points etc with the Predator? I understand performance can be different from one trip to the track from the next due to altitude, track conditions and air density/weather conditions etc. I'm just looking for typical/average figures that folks have seen or experienced with stock combinations.
What exactly is the poll for? I installed Predators in an auto and 2 mn6's with no gains and total disapointment. I never drag raced after adjusting tranny settings on the auto, but the dyno was enough as the owner wanted a refund therafter and seldom drag races. FWIW. Chris
I have a 01 A4 Convertible with 3:15 gears. Got my Predator from James and installed it along with a 170 deg. thermostat. Went to Beech Bend Park in BG. ran 12:98 @ 109mph last year. The other cars were running 13:30s. My 0-60ft times were 1.91sec. Only other change to the car was Firestone Firehawks RFTs. 3 seconds for $400 is a deal. :chevy
i have an 02 a4 coupe ,cut .13 off my 1/4 mile after install . noticeable sotp feel probably more from the quicker tranny shifting ,plus was able to tweak it with predator at the track. also noticed that with the predator on monitor that my ltft were up to +18 (adding more fuel) and timing was advanced up to 38( slightly over stock) . now i use minimum 93 octane gas or i get knock retard when i step on it. i'm very happy with my results
