I have a 97 coupe that just happened too. What you need exactly is something called Delrin Ends, I bought them from hardbar. I think I paid $65 with shipping. I've put them on and they have worked out great, they are alot stronger than the gm stock part. Call this guy and he will help you out, his name is Dennis T.
