Ok, here is the the deal, it is true (per James) about the 04 Predator.
They will be updating the older version soon, so that it will no longer
lock to the VIN.
I will let you know when I try mine, I have to send it back to get an update. My 04 is not supported (old program in the PCM) but they are testing an update to add it.

keep it comming.
It seems that predator is a better buy. A little concern over how much an expert I need to be to fully maximize its potential?
thanks.

If you have an A4 you will like it right out of the box, but then you will want to play with the settings.
Verrrrry easy to use. Of course to get the max out of it you would need to dyno the car. Talk to James (RWTD) he will hook you up with free custom tunning if you are his customer. He does a lot of cars and knows what to change to match any mods you have. I loved the Predator in my 02 A4. I am still trying to get the new one with the right updates for my 04.

No, you can use it on any 2004 GM vehicle with ODB-II. The one exception is that it also works in the '03 SSR.

I also have a 50th anniversary A4 and just ordered a Perdator, what changes did you make to the shift points. My last car was a 03 ZO6 and these is my first automatic Vette I ever had.
(have 4 points on my license so I hope the plush 50th Anniverary package will mellow me out). It definitely shift to soon for me.

I have a brand new Hypertech from my 98 Trans am and am thinking of sending it to Hypertech to get it reprogrammed for my 2000 C5...it will cost 200$. My questions are these...is the unit safe for your engine? Some reputable tuners say that the programming is too harse...Should I go for a proffessional tune with Vette doctors or save money and use the Hypertech for now? I have TPIS L/T's and 3200 stall t/convertor so far....Is it worth it?
