Default 1st to 4th skip shift not woking?

The 1st to 4th shift light does not light up on the dash pannel when I start the car and there is no 1st to 4th forced shift or light on the dash pannel at low RPM's in first gear. Now I know that the 1st to 4th automatic shift is a pain in the ars, but I do not know if something serious is wrong. What timing... just got my CAGS last week too... and no I have not installed it yet.

Any ideas on what is wrong? Help

If you bought the Vette used if may already have been programmed out..
Also do you have the Stock Rear Gears??

When I put my 4:10 gears in my CAGS went away.. It put me way outside the window where CAGS kicks in....

Thank you for the response. I have the original gears but don't think the original owner put in the CAGS because 3 to 4 times it made me do the 1st to 4th shift. My only concern is if this will cause issues with the transmission.

Thank you for the help.

You won't hurt a thing.. in fact I think lugging your motor and tranny in 4th at low rpms could do more harm..

You must be a fairly spirited driver if you never hit it that often...Or quite possibly the solenoid has just gone bad..

Are you complaining that your CAGS light doesn't work? Most people on this board have paid money, even if it's just a few pennies for a resistor, to get rid of the darn thing and I wish I had the problem of the light not coming on
