Does anyone know where I can get a logger program for the vette. without spending alot of money? Or does anyone have one they are willing to email to me? I would like one to run on the Lap top but a Palm program would work. I know there are several out there but I don't know which one I can get cheap.

 

A scanner/logger requires a hardware cable along with software to work so it can't really be emailed to you. The software can but you would still need the cable. I realize it's kind of confusing to understand because I was very confused about everything I needed when I was starting out. I'm gonna use AutoTap for example because that's what I have and it's really the only one I'm familiar with. You're better off going to Autotap.com and reading some there but I'll hit the main points for you because even the site can be kinda hard to understand exactly what you're getting.
With Autotap you pay them $199.95 and you get a hardware cable, software and instructions with OBD2 GENERIC parameters. There's a list of generic param's on the site. For $99.95 more you can upgrade to GM ENHANCED parameters (listed on the site also).
EfiLive is software that can be added on to your autotap cable and it's LS1 specific for $238. You only need the cable with generic to use efilive. Efilive is also worth the money over enhanced parameters by a long shot.
Hopefully this will at least get you started and if you have any other questions ask 'em and I'll try to answer them.

$99 or so gets you in the game, generic OBD-2 params but full access to error codes and whatnot.
