Default Programmer possibly voiding warrantee

I just got back from ATV; I wanted to see what he has regarding performance upgrades on my 04 convertible. I inquired about cold air intake and a programmer. He stated that he thinks that if I reprogram the computer and reset it back to default when I bring the car in for service, that when they plug their computer in, they can see the history on certain things. It sounds as if it works like a black box and if they see that I changed the computer settings it would void my warrantee. Can anyone advise if it’s true before I change my settings? I would really love to get a little more punch.

that's a tough spot to be in. but SEMA does alot for us performance enthusiasts in this area. there is a law about modifying your car and warranty situations. basically the law states just because there is an aftermarket part on the car, doesn't automatically void your warranty. they have to prove it was the root cause for the breakdown. if you were to do a reprogram with a handheld, for instane, and then return programming back to stock before taking it on, i don't know of any recording the PCM does to store that kind of info. basically you rewrite the PCM each time you make a change. i'll ask vinci about it just to make sure.
