Another Pinging Question
My '97 A4 only began pinging a few weeks after I put in NGK Iridiums and Magnacore plugs. It sounds like light pinging on hard acceleration, but I believe I hear it echoing into the exhaust down by the firewall.
Any thoughts?
Just for kicks, I hooked up an old-fashioned inductance timing light to see what I would see. I was surprised that periodically, on any wire, there would be dead spots with no flashes!(?) Is the high energy ignition too strong for this kind of light?
