LS1 edit questions
I am the recipient of an unused LS1 edit dated 01/02 software version 1.2
1. will this work on my 04?
2. after the initial reading of the VIN is the LS1 edit now married for life to that VIN?
3. I assume a software upgrade to v 1.5 would be prudent

I'm not sure if v1.2 was around before the 04 was released. In any rate an upgrade to v1.5 would be recommended as there is added support for a few more tables and definitely support for the 04. One other caveat is the cable may need to be upgraded for the 04 PCM. I would recommend contacting dave@carputing.com in regard to this. He can answer your questions and help you get going. If you have the licensed version you can install up to three pcm's on one cable. When you program the PCM for the first time a dialog will pop up and ask if you want to lock this pcm to your cable. When you answer yes it burns the vin and pcm keys to that slot in the cable. It is non-reversible as the memory slot is a one-time only programmable section.
