I have an '01 Coupe MN6 (22K miles) which has a Blackwing and Corsa Touring exhaust and X-Pipe. My car had been running fine. I took her into the Chevy dealer body shop to install a Motor City Carbon Fibrer Hood (vented on top) and Tiger Shark front fascia (looks more like the C6 front). It looks great, but upon driving her she begain stalling at lights and bucking for no reason in 5th gear. Took her back to the dealer and the Vette tech did all kind of tests and the only way he could make the problem go away was to install a stock air filter. Prior to taking the Blackwing out, he did switch MAF's and the problem was still there. As you can imagine, I wasn't too happy about giving up the Blackwing. His tests indicate that the engine is getting too much air and burning too lean. I am not a mechanic by any means, but I have never heard of anything like this. The mechanic showed me the Blackwing and it looked dirty to me, but the sensor did not indicate so. Any ideas? SHould I take my car to a tuner?

Thanks for any help.
Might be a MAF wire or even a plug wire for that much. I do my own tune. I would take it to a good tuner and ask for Scan. I could see where the HP Scan chart would help. You would be able to see everything there in chart form and replay it.
If it was runng good when it went in, it was something they distrubed. I don't buy just changing from the blackwing. could be an obstruction also. going lean says the computer saw less air through the maf Could be just running on the long term fuel trims. I suggest also looking at the Long Term and short term Fuel Tables in 3D. You would see it right away.
I just wanted to send out a special thanks to Mike Bruce (DTSNGIT) who was able to fix my air flow problem while he was in Maryland. The Blackwing is back on my Vette and my baby is running great. Mike also tuned my wife's '03 Vert A4 while he was here. We couldn't beleive what a difference it made in acceleration. I think even Mike was surprised how fast it moved.
Mike's a great guy who is very knowledgeable. I highly recommend him.
