I just tried to install the predator tune on my 2000 A4. I got a script error at the end of installing the performance tune. I then tried to reinstall the stock tune and got the same thing. I now have many codes and the check engine light is on. All of the codes are "H" codes, but there are quite a few of them. Do you think it is ok to drive the car and do you think it has the stock tune completely back in it?
Here are my codes
10 - PCM codes
P1518H
P1626H
28 - TCS
U1016H
60 - IPC
U1016H
U1664H
U1160H
U1040H
U1088H
U1176H
when the Predator communicates with the cars databuss; it needs to be the ONLY thing using the databus.
This is most important on the first useage of the Predator (where it first reads, alters, then writes the new Perforance tune back into the PCM) This first useage consumes the most time on the databuas and increases the chance for data overruns or data crashes.. If anything else tries to use the buss, then it can cause a script error.
Using the car radio, adjusting windows, opening /closing a door, even the Retained Accessory Power timing-out can cause interference.
When using the Predator or any other handhelp tuning device, you need to:
1. clear out all the reminders on the DIC (apply brake when starting message, low tire air pressure... and so on) Just keep pressing the reset button next to the DIC until all messages and chimes have stopped.
2. Don't use any power accessories; nor should you open or close any doors during the process
3. place parking brake on; which in many instances will turn off the front DRL's
4. Only use a program device with a fully charged battery. Many devices like these can't tolerate a voltage swing during operation. So, if your C5 has sat for 10 days - either drive it around the block a few times to get the battery charged back up; or use a battery charger. (obviously removing the battery charger before connecting your Predator)
then, and only after then... should you use a handheld tuning device.
A friend of mine had the same problem with his Predator on it's first useage; and got the same error messages. One call to Diablosport, and he was back in business.
So I can only suggest you do the same.
Your factory tune was successfully loaded into the Predator, so trying to reflash the PCM back to original is the proper route to take. But before you do this, use your Predator to clear all DTC's... first. Then reflash back to the (stored) factory tune.
You should then be able to start the "first useage" all over again.

Hey guyz, just trying to help. When I know something to be a fact, I'll state it as so. If I am using common-sense to come to a conclusion... I'll lable it as "IMO" or say "it might" or "it probably will" or "I think it should be". And when I'm guessing, I label it as a "guess".
But, that's nothing out of the ordinary for those faithful to CorvetteForum.com
