4L60E: 98 vs. 02 program, please explain
In my opinion the stock 4L60E transmission with the 98 settings shifts too hard at low load. I saw that the newer cars have different settings (especially the Positive pressure vs. torque values).
I loaded the complete transmission settings of the 02 Corvette (almost the same as the 02 F body) and I really like it.
In those newer cars the Positive pressure vs. torque table has higher numbers at low throttle and lower at WOT.
I almost don’t feel the shifts, very smooth at part throttle and strong enough at WOT. The more restrictive new Torque Management isn't too bad.
Here my question: do those cars have the same transmission? (My 98 Trans Am and the 02 F and Y bodies?). If not what are the differences?
The only problem I can imagine is that I’m using now a program that allows more slippage with mechanical parts that aren’t built fort that.
Right now the engine is stock (I disconnect the blower during winter), so the power should be in an acceptable range for this transmission.
Tables that I copied (LS1 Edit):
Positive pressure vs. torque
Desired shift time
Base pressure vs. torque
Upshift torque reduction
A4 TCC
This for the same gear ratio (2.73)
