Default Dyno and LS1-Edit Session results...

So today I went to MSP Motorsport Performance in Frederick, MD. to Meet with Jeff Creech and some of the F-body crowd, hang out and have my car LS1-Edit tuned.

My car has now got the LS6 intake, ported Shaner TB, LGM headers, SLP Cats, 3inch full exhaust back to Borla Stingers, Volant CAI, Jacobs wires...

The car is making SAFE HP tuned properly (Was way rich before the tune) to 334.5HP and 353#Ft. of Torque. I had Jeff do a more road race/ track day oriented tune done on the car to make safe HP at Wide open throttle for extended periods... I could tell a difference on the drive home! $300 WELL SPENT!

Glad to see you were successful with your tune man! I may be looking for a dyno tune as well, do you know of any other reputable tuners in the north east? Anyone?

Another victory for Jeff Creach and CAM. How did other people feel about their dyno tuning? Jeff is one of the few tuners that will stop what he's doing and fly in to tune at a great price. Whats really cool is that updates are free!

Congrats!

Jeff's Reputation is renowned from Dallas to Miami, to NewYork City, and although some less enformed members would use stupid terms like "Skippy tuned it" (Thinking back to an ugly post by Mike M.), everyone who was there and had their car tuned by Jeff was QUITE pleased with the results...

What really surprised me is the list of bolt ons I made and the fact that I only made about 35HP AFTER all the mods from the last time I dyno'ed the car. Sure, with the equation of 15% drivetrain loss (Which shouldn't be as much with the Vette), I figure about 385HP??? That sounds high on one hand and low on the other... What's a bone stock C5 turning on the rollers? My guess is that these parts (Or the sum of them) aren't worth NEARLY what the "Vendors" claim... Good thing I bought them used from other members here, and not retail!

I also got to take a ride in a 544WHP Z06... What a Blast that was!

Mike

Hey Mike, does Jeff do performance upgrades to C5s like head and cam installs as well as the dyno tuning? Contemplating a serious engine buildup but would like to find someone good locally. My plan was to go to East Coast Supercharging up in NJ.

With 334.5 HP to the wheels, you are making 393.5 hp at the crank with 15% loss. Take 334.5 and divide that by .85. BTW I have almost the exact same numbers with very similar mods.

Tell me more about MSP Motorsports in Frederick. Also more about Jeff Creech and his connection to MSP. I am in Chambersburg Pa. and need a tuner this close with a good reputation. So please inform me. Thanks, Skip

MSP is owned by a few professional drag racers who have a full service shop. Currently they have the fastest Supra on Radials, running 180mph in 7.98 seconds in Englishtown Last year...on BFG Drag Radials. They hosted the Fbody shindig and Jeff Creech came up from North Carolina.

There is a tuner MUCH closer to me (About 30 minutes away), but I've developed a working relationship with Jeff Creech, so I'm gonna stick with him for now. My goals are different than others, as I do track days and instructional events for road course. They could have gotten me a few more ponies in a drag specific tune, but I chose the torque instead!

John Sealock at Woodbridge Dynotune in Stafford, Va. is about 2.5 hours from you and also does VFERY good tunes... he is about 30 minutes from my house...

Do A search on the Dynotech Website to find various tuners by State. Some just do dyno pulls and others having full tuning capapbilities with a wide range of packages. Jeff and John both do a variety of software tunes.

Slowhawk, on this forum, did mine, he works out of Mike Dez racing in Seekonk, Mass. He used LS1 edit, and with long tube headers, we got 342 rwhp, 355 tq, and my car runs great. Can't wait for spring.
