How hard to installl....
I am looking to change the cable that runs to the positive battery terminal. I believe that it runs from the terminal to the starter. Unfortunately for me I had a brain freeze and actually thought that Circuit City could install a stereo system in my vert. Ha! They had the car for two days and they couldn't even disconnect the battery cable and instead cut it on the top loop where the bolt goes through. Even though it was a superficial cut, it is ugly. Also I plan on buying some extended bolts which attach the cable to the battery if ever I need to boost it. The way it is currently setup it is nearly impossible to get a booster pack with big cables to bite the bolt for any length of time. Of course when I saw what CC had done I took the car back immediately, bruised but otherwise O.K. 
So anyway what's involved in swapping this cable?

I ordered a replacement for mine and it came in Black (GM part), not Red. Aside from color difference it appears to be the same. I haven't got around to changing mine out yet but it looks like a jackstand job ought to do it. After leaving the battery it goes to a plastic cable clamp (two maybe) on it's way down to the starter. Looks like it shouldn't be too hard though. I don't think I'll have to lower the starter, but I could be wrong.
