Default Electric Cut-outs vs. catback?

I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on electric cut-outs. I was looking at all the catbacks and they are pretty exspensive for just at catback. Most are over 700$. Then I thought I could get 2 electric cut-outs for 350$. This would allow me to be quiet and loud whenever I want.

My only concern is have LG headers and having stock exhaust when cutouts were closed........

What does everyone think? Good Idea? Would you go this route, why or why not?

Default i have

i have elctronic cutouts and love them, they are the best of both worlds. I have a big cam in my car so when i want it to be really loud i just open them up, and it like having wide open headers, then when you want to cruise around and be quiet then you just hit the switch and close them, the exhuast goes threw the stock system and is very quiet. I heard all the cat back systems and there isnt much diference between them and open exhuast. Also cutouts are cheaper so it was a no brainer for me.

DITTO!
I contemplated for year on Borlas vs. electric cutouts and ended up with the QTP cutouts. I don't regret it one bit. As Vettegetsmwet99 said, best of both worlds. Plus, from a performance standpoint, I can't imagine any aftermarket exhaust that offers any less flow restriction than cutouts!

4.7 secs according to the instructions that came with mine.
I run stock exhaust behind Kooks and Magnaflow. Removed the cut outs, sounded horrible. Crudded up the belly of the beast. Also think there is a learning curve for PCM upon loosing x amount of back pressure. For just being loud, they are great, and can be fun.
Save, and go for catback.
New exhaust for C6 opens wide up through a passage in muffler at 30 some % throttle, interesting concept.

It's definetly the way to go... My brother Patches has had both types and the QTP's are the electric cut-out of choice..

Yep. E-T is correct. I've tried both and the QTP's are of higher quality. Recently, I was at a buddy's house and I took him for a ride to hear the cutouts for the first time. Afterwards he said I should dump the videos of my cutouts I've posted links to because they don't do the actual sound justice. He said the videos make them sound weak and tinny in comparison to how they sound in person. I'm endeavoring to find a better video camera with higher quality sound recording capability.

Idling open and closed

I have street pros on mine. They take about 2 seconds to fully open/close. Excellent quality too. You pay a little more for them.
