BHP vs RWHP

Can someone please explain what Brake Horsepower is and how it compares to RWHP and/or flywheel hp? Thanks in advance!

Very basically, bhp is what your engine is producing. rwhp is what you are putting down to the rear wheels. You lose horsepower because of the drivetrain.

I think that bhp, flywheel horsepower are the same but not for sure. I only go by rwhp becuase that is what matters, thats what you put down to the ground.

I realize there's a loss of power from the flywheel to the wheels. I guess then that BHP is the same as flywheel hp. Thanks.

BHP = Brake Horsepower = Flywheel Horsepower

They call it brake because its measured on a "brake dyno" that adds a load or a brake.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I beleive there is ABOUT 15/18% difference between the two depending if you have an A4 or M6. RWHP being less than the BHP. RWHP really being the one that counts!
