Has anyone thought of using these(MSD blaster Coils for the LS1/LS6) they will not be out until March 31.I wonder if you will see any increase in power? They increase voltage by 40% the cost is going to be 75 per coil! There going to have some kind of plug for a later type of controller? Just wanting to get feedback! Also i heard that coils off a 6.0 truck were hotter then LS1 coils.
The only thing I heard was that they are going to be a waste of money for the C5. I'm not sure if that is true or not. I've always used them on my Mustang's and had good results.
If the LS1 or LS6 is still normally aspirated there is no significant gain at all. However, if the engine is supercharged, turbocharged, using abnormally high compression ratios, or high NOS loads, then there may be some benefit to ensure there are no misfires. The significancre of the MSD is in it's name... it fires the plug multiple times to ensure a full ignition and burn under less than optimal conditions such as when very high cylinder pressures are present, which could inhibit a good spark jump.
The LSx series engines seem to have a pretty good ignition right from the factory.
