Default What MOD next?

New member here! My first attempt at a post! I have done all the basic mods I can think of to my '99 M6 C5. You know air in and air out. Changed gears too. Was thinking of porting heads and a cam (can you do just a cam?). I am looking for advice and if anyone knows a reasonable ($$$$) but good tuner in the Ohio area. Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the forum! Depends on what your looking for. Do you want more go fast parts? Here is my list in priority:

1. Lower car. Done.

2. Gears - Also beef up the diff with all of the HD components because a lot of people around here are breaking stuff. I'm adding power later and don't want to cause un-necessary expense by breaking cases or shafts. Done.

3. Shifter. I got a Hurst. Done.

4. Intake - I'm ordering a VaraRam today.

5. Exhaust - LG Headers, Magnaflow catback. Random Tech X.

6. Heads/Cam. You can just put a cam only in but you might as well do both (if your going to do the work yourself).

7. Blower

8. Engine dress up

I also have a few dress up parts that I picked up that I will be putting on soon. Aluminum bezels and interior stickers.

Yep you can do just a cam...If you already have all the bolt-ons, then it sounds like heads/cam is the next step for ya...

If I do just a cam (want an aggressive one, good lump!), what kind of HP gains will I see -vs- heads and cam together.

I mentioned that I wanted a good (reasonable) price for the install. However, I have no idea what would be good or way to high. Talked to Mallet and LPE and they were $5500 to $7000 installed. WOW. Blew me back. What do you guys think is a good price for:

1) Just cam

or

2) head ported and cam install.

I want a fair price but dont want to worry about the Quality!

I did cam only and made an additonal 69rwhp. My cam is on the large size but with a good tune you should be alright.

I'd say a cam would run you around $350-450.00

Springs $150- $300

Install around $500 and a tune around $400.00 so ballpark would be around $1600

Hope this helps

With a new set of freer flowing heads you'll proabaly pickup anywhere from 25-50rwhp depending on the heads.

If you do choose to go with a aggressive cam I would suggest that you go with a port and polished throttle body. Either a shaner or have the your oem unit hogged out
