I have a 99' C5 with ride control. What can be done to stop that annoying squeaking from my suspension? I only hear it when my radio is off. I just wonder if everyone outside hears it when crossing speed bumps and parking lots. Thats my only gripe with this car except electrical problems and rattles....
I got under my car and sprayed all the rubber I could find with ZEP silicone spray. I used a whole can on all the rubber. I stuck the stick in where it would fit and sprayed the crap out of everything. Worked for me.
Your sway bar bushings have a fiber core, this core has worn off the paint on the sway bars. This area has turned rusty, the rust against the dry sway bar bushings is causing the noise. Most prominent going slow over speed bumps etc. The fix is simple, remove the sway bar bushings, simple job, clean the rusted sway bars, clean the rust off the bushings, use silicone grease on the bushings, and reinstall to the proper torque. Take note of the bushing position within the bushing clamp.
