Default Tires?

I’m sure this subject has been beaten to death. Let me apologize in advance. I do not spend much time on line or reading this forum.

My 98 C5 has 16,000 miles and the tires have plenty left. But they are much harder than when they were new. I need new tires so I have two questions.

1. Run Flats or regular

2. What brand stock size tires ride the best? I want to drive the interstates with out the tar strips beating me.

My car has the ride control if that makes any difference.

I have all the original wheels, caps and lugs. Anybody looking?

Thanks to all of you who love these cars and makes life easier for guys like me.

Bill

I personally have Bridgestone Potenze SO3 Pole Positions on my Vette and love them. They have great tractions and to me they are quite as well. However, they are not Run Flats... What you give up in peace of mind with the run flats, you gain in traction/performance! Good luck

The most important thing now is ride quality and noise. I must be getting OLD! I can live without run flats those crazy Z 06 people do..

Thanks!

At 40,000 I replaced the " run craps " with Michelin Pilot Sports A/S ZP. They do the job in all respects. Great ride, QUIET and stick like glue. Now have 63,000 miles and loving every minute of it ! Go for it !

I had BFG KDs and Michelin Pilot Sports, like both way more than the runflats. The ride was much improved as well.

Nitto NT-555's much more comfortable than RF's and quiet. Good price as well.
