well, 2 things, your not gonna blow up an LS1 that easy so i wouldnt go by that time table when deciding to purchase new heads. 2nd, its gonna be real tough to break 400rwhp on a non-z06 with a cam only upgrade unless you get a monster cam. and if you do get a monster cam, forget cali emissions. just my .02

This is true. Tough to have both a huge cam and meet Cali emissions. That being said, I have a huge cam (cam only) and am probably close to 400hp. But I'm not in Cali either.

I would not choose a cam with greater than 224 duration. If you want to have any chance of passing Calif. emmissions. Unfortunately to get to 400 RWHP with a small cam you will need modified heads.

I just did cam only on 01 Z06. 224/581 on 114 and the most we could squeeze with tuning was 388. I know others get more, but I guess every car is different. I must say, it does run like a champ. I gained almost 30 rwhp with the cam. It feels like I gained 50, though! Uncorrected I broke 400, but all in all I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Scott
