Just installed the Hurst short throw shifter man I wish I had done this a long time ago what a difference it makes in just driving the car anyway was real easy to do it is just a little firmer and noisier but not a bad trade off at all thanks for all the good posts here

Just did my 04 conv yesterday, great positive shifts but need to now deal with the noise/vibration problem that grew out of \0\0?H\0\0\0\0H-`\0?Been reading some of the posts and figure will try dampening shifter. Read conflicting data about shifter must be adjusted or shifter doesn't need adjusting, set @ factory. This is street driving only so what's the deal with the adjustments?

Didn't have this problem. Mine is about as quiet as the stock.
Just installed mine today. I really like it. I too should have done this a long time ago. It is a very deliberate shift. It is does a great job of eliminating missed shifts. I used the springs that came in it, but it could even be lightened up with the lighter springs. My wife (110 lbs) even likes driving it better than the stock shifter. It is a much harder shift, but I knew that going in. I really believe the car is faster because there is less time spent shifting.
BTW, the install took about 1.5 hours, and I really took my time. The hardest part was getting the "T" pin out of the stock shifter. I pulled on it with pliars while my wife pryed on it with a screwdriver. I went with the stock shift ****, and put the stock boot right back on without adjusting it. It looks really good, and you can't even tell I changed anything by looking at it. I'm sure other brands are good too, but I really like the Hurst. If it has any noise at all, I don't notice it. It must be the headers and Borla Stingers covering it.
