Default Reuse gaskets?

Is it normal to reuse the oil pan, front and rear cover gaskets?

Never re-use a gasket, any time, any where. They do not cost that much and then you don't have to worry about leaks if you do the job right.

I will only reuse a gasket if it looks good and then only if it can be replaced easily should it leak. I would bever reuse a front or rear cover gasket just because of what it takes to replace those but I have reused the lower oil pan gasket.

BTW - I had the lower section of my oil pan off 4 times and the last time I developed an oil leak so I wound up doing an unscheduled oil change to fix it but it still saved me from buying 3 gaskets at $40.00 a piece.

This is not always true the rubber valve cover gaskets are reuseable and the covers are of the same type.
