Default GM / Dealer Labor Operation Codes??

HELP...
I've gotten the Vehicle Inquiry System (VIS) history report sheets on a car that I'm looking at, and the 'Claim History' shows the following;

V0743 - ECI Relay Harness Replaced @ 7500 miles

( what does this HARNESS control or go to ?? ) and

N4800 - Module, Computer ( Control ) Body - Replace @ 8200 miles

and again @ 10,500 miles

( what does this Module control?? and why would it need to be replaced twice in less than 2 years ?? )

Thank you ALL!! Larry

The BCM monitors/controls everything from headlights, fog lights, DRLs, console lamps, defogger, horn, column lock, hatch release, top release, well you get the picture. The BCM is located in the passenger footwell. Replacement could be related to column lock, but could also be related to the leaking battery side terminals that are supposed to be common in earlier cars. The lead/acid battery, not the AGM batteries used in later cars.

How can I get a VIS for my car? I bought it used and would love to know the history, especially because it's an '01 Z06.

Take it to any GM dealer and ask to VISS your vehicle for any open recalls/campaigns...........It's free and if you ask politely enough you can get a copy.

Steering lock campaign according to my receipts. Did they put a 88952427 harness K on it?

No idea on the other...you can always stop by a GM dealer..they should be able to tell you.
