Default Z06 swaybar/endlink question

I have an '04 base and want to go to the Z06 bars. I know the '04 has the Al endlinks - my question is do I need any new hardware (any 1 time use bolts or anything like that) or do I only need the bars themselves?

Thanks!

Nope. Just the bars and rubber bushings. Just my opinion, but you might like the Z51 front bar better than the Z06. The rear bar is the same. I tried both and I like the Z51 bar much better. I have the base suspenion.

Why do you say the Z51 front bar by itself is better? I was thinking about changing the stock bars to the ZO6 bars.

I have the F45 suspension in mine and bought the Z06 bars... didn't need endlinks, just bushings (isolators)

The Z06 bars and the Z51 bars have the same rear bar.The Z06 front bar is stiffer than the front Z51 bar. If you already have the Z51 or F45 suspenion, the Z06 front bar should work fine because you have stiffer springs and /or adjustable shocks(stiffer) . On a base suspenion car,the rear spring is not heavy enough to balance the stiffer Z06 front bar. This will sometimes make the car understeer(push).IMHO, the front Z51 bars with a base suspenion car makes a much better driving package. I tried both on my car. Any more questions, just ask.I paid extra to learn.

I just changed out the base sway bars to the z06. I do agree that in the turns there is a slight understeer (which I wrote up under Z06 Sway Bar 1st impression). I am planning on upgrading the shocks to either 04 z06s or something in that line so the little understeer is no big deal for me right now. I do find the overall handling of the car is much better and even if I was not updating the shocks I think I would stay with the Z06 sway bars.....

You dont need to order the metal end links since you have an 04. Just get the sway bars and the bushings (the base bushings are too small).

Thanks for the replies guys! I am aware of the understeer with the thicker bars and base springs...my plan is to have all the base stuff gone as soon as I can afford to do so.

I was going to go Hotchkiss until I saw that Z06 bars are 1/3 to 1/2 the price of the Hotchkiss...since this is a street and track weekend car I decided to go this route.

New springs and shocks are next...although...Has anyone looked up shipping on new springs holy cow.
