Default '99 wheel change without sensors?

I did a search on "sensors" in this forum but I couldn't find the answer I'm looking for.

If I change my wheels/tires to a set of stock Z06's without sensors, what kind of issues can I expect from the display?

If I throw a code can I clear it once and it disappear for the rest of the trip?

Can the tire sensor monitoring be programmed out of the ECU? If so, how would I go about doing that?

I know that many of you are running without TPS. How do you get around this issue?

Thanks for your help.

Andy.

P.S. I can fit Z06 wheels on a stock C5, right?

The Z06 wheels will fit, no problem.

The 2000 and older PCM cannot delete the TPS code. IT will come on at start up and when you turn it off. When you delete it, it will stay off as long as the engine is running.

Just food for thought: your original 99 sensors will fit into the Z06 rims. You would have to remove them from your old rims, break one of the beads on the new rim to attach the sensor. Removing the sensors is easy once you get into the old tire, just takes a 7/16" deep socket to remove the mounting nut. The new rims will need re-balancing, and you are good to go. If you want to do this, make sure they put the sensors back in the same location and you probably won't even need to re-learn them.
