i have a set of anodized ccw's on my car and while i was washing it today i noticed that rear ones were darker than the fronts. it seems as if the fronts are fading. has any one heard of this?
I have not heard of that particular problem, but all anodized finishes (particularly if it is not hard-anodizing), are subject to fading or "turning" from prolonged exposure to high temperatures. Since the front brakes do most of the work in a C5, I suppose it is possible that the heat from braking is conducting to the wheels and causing them to fade. If that turns out to be the cause, drilled or StopFORCE rotors should help dissipate the heat quicker.
What you can do is repaint them...............
I spoke with Jhon at CCW and he told me that its very easy.
1.- Let the air out of the tires
2.- Remove Valve steem (Dont Need to Remove Tires)
3.- Unbolt all bolts
4.- Remove Center Piece
5.- Clean very well with soap and water
6.- Dry them very well
7.- Paint them your self with Matte or Glossy Spray Paint or have your local Body Shop do them
Cool, I assume that means the fasteners are reusable (had some Japanese tuner wheels and they were _not_). Do you know the torque spec for the bolts?
Thanks! Great info!

why should i have to paint them if they are not even a year old. besides the paint will eventually chip and start the peal. if i wanted some painted wheels i would have bought some knock offs. i appricaite the info but this is not the solution i was looking for. if i would known i would have purchased them polished. i guess i will call them and see what we can work out.
I talked to Chip from CCW today and man these guys are a class act. Explaned to him what was going on and before i could finish he was asking me what replacements I wanted. I will definitley be calling them when i get ready for my drag pack. Good work guys
