I'm thinking about getting the Z06 wheels instead of my Wagon Wheels. My question is............... I'm thinking about getting the wheels in about a month or two but I am getting new tires this week. Are they two different size wheels? Will I need to get a different size tire since I will be going to the Z06's?
Wagon Wheels are (17x8.5 18x9.5)
Z06 Wheels are (17x9.5 18x10.5)
I would get the bigger tires that fit the Z06 rims. Something like 275/40/17 front and 295/35/18 for the rear.
You don't have to, but why not.
You can buy Z06 reproduction wheels in:
17x8.5
17x9.5
18x9.5
18x10.5
OEM Z06 wheels are:
17x9.5
18x10.5
Your Wagon Wheels are:
17x8.5
18x9.5
So, knowing this, you could buy Z06 repro wheels in the same size as your wagon wheels, thus being able to stay with the same size tires you have been running.
OR:
If you want to step up to actual Z06 size wheels (1" wider front and back than your Wagon Wheels) I'd then suggest wider tires. Z06 OEM tires sizes are:
Front - 265/40-17
Rear - 295/35-18
PS (as for your forum name) My favorite tone is the switch in the 4 position, neck & middle pickups

to be exact, the tire sizes on the z06 are 265/40-17 and 295/35-18. of which i have a set sitting at my shop for sale. 16k miles on them. 6/32 left on the front and 3/32 left on the rear. some have puncture repairs in them. one front has no puncture repairs.
Does anyone know the offsets of the OE Z06 wheels vs. Y2k style?
Essentially what I'm asking is if you go OE Z06 wheels to they stick out further or does the offset adjust for the 1" difference?
The Z06 wheels stick out much further than the stock C5 wheels do...the outside edge of the Z wheels fit perfectly flush with the fenders.
If the offset remained the same, the 1" wider Z wheels would stick out 1/2" more...but since they have even less offset than the C5 wheels do, they stick out slightly more than that.
The C5 wheel offsets are 58mm front, 65mm rear
The Z06 wheel offsets are 54mm front, 58mm rear.
