I had a top shop cahange mine from Tan to Navy blue. The quality of the top if great. Check with a local top shop and get an estimate. There are a lot of different colors you can go with also.

You are just replacing the cover so shouldn't be a big deal. I'd suggest just carefully remember how it came off and try to put the new one on. Worst case you'd have to take it to the shop without a top cover and get them to do it. Worth a shot right?
