I plan to install a set of Kook's headers and have read a few threads that indicate there is an increase in valve train noise from the exhaust hitting the header pipe as it exits from the cylinder head. I don't know if anyone could quantify it for me on a scale of 1-10.
For example - when I put on the ZO6 Ti exhaust the sound decible increase was 1 at idle and got somewhat modestly louder under normal acceleration. Direct linkage to the gas pedal. WOT sounds good to me. I don't want to end up with too much valve noise but i am not too concerned about a modest increase in exhaust note.
Thanks
I know this is a subjective answer and may be directly correlated to age. I want to avoid additional interior noise.
I haven't noticed much more valvetrain noise. You will notice a 100% difference in wot sounds though. I thought the ti's with stock manifolds and h pipe were quiet even under wot. When I went with lt's it made me much happier.
