You need to use jacking pucks or an equivalant before you jack up the car. The owners manual tells you where to place them. Put a piece of wood on top of the jack stand before you place the car on them once you get it up in the air. This keeps you from damaging or denting any of the braces, etc under the car. There are posts about making your own jacking pucks. Just do a search on it and you should come up with lots of posts.
Buy the jacking pucks from Elite Engineering. They are half the cost of all the competitors, better looking and at 39.95 shipped worth it to not have to track down hocky pucks, etc. Very !
As far as jacking the car up, it depends on whether or not you've lowered it. If it is stock it is very easy. Do as described above. If you've lowered it you may have to build some ramps to pull up on before you can get the jack underneath.
A lot of people have luck with Rhino ramps if the car has not been lowered. They are like $18 at Wally World. Good luck!
The Rhino Ramps make it easy. Drive the front wheels onto the ramps. Jack up the back by the rear crossmember and place on jackstands. Then, Jack up the front by the crossmember and place on 2nd set of jackstands. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes.
I prefer the method in the link in the previous post. I'm not a fan of jacking up one corner at a time high enough to put a jack stand underneath. Front then back is nice.
I just got done doing this for a swaybar swap and it's a piece of cake.
Just make sure you chock wheels while you're jacking if you do this so there's no chance of rolling...and do it on a flat surface.
This way's also nice because you don't need the pucks.
