well, i just installed my new 3mm leds into my door panels using the 470 ohm resistors using every thing from cv tech tips,, all went smooth.. but lights are not that bright,, i used red color.. i thought leds throw some light ?! well question is this,,, can i get something brighter in there,, so they POP. when i flip... thanx for any help

yes, you can get brighter. There are different brightness leds just like different brightness bulbs. Pick up an electronics catalog and they will be listed in size - T1, T1 1/2, T 1 3/4, etc. and brightness 400mcd, 600mcd etc. you can try a high brightness led. I would stay away from ultra high brightness, unless you want some bling.

You have two strikes against you already and maybe more.
Red LEDs are generally not as bright visually as white or blue
3mm LEDs are not as bright as 5mm
You should go with as high mcd as you can get if you are using red LEDs....IMHO
Are you sure they are all lit? My reds are fine. However I did discover that when I put them in, some did not light at all. This is because they have "polarity". If you discover some are not lit, simply rotate the led housing 180 degrees and reinsert. This should work.
